Contribute to Hans’ Memorial Fund today.
Since 2004, our organization has taken on dogs with significant medical needs, such as surgery or medical treatment - to such an extent that expenses can add up. This fund was designed to support catastrophic medical care, including reconstructive surgery or amputation. This is all made possible via Hans’ Fund, a donation-based program that helps provide dogs with medical care.
Hans’ dream lives on.
Hans was hit by a car in late 2012 and brought to a local shelter; he had no one come forward so they called us. GSDRGA brought him to our vet where he was treated for a crushed paw and other injuries.
We raised $2200 for Hans' surgery and convalescent care. During this time, we provided him with blankets, toys, and supplies, filling what were his last days with more love than he ever received previously.
After suffering from a cartilaginous embolism in his spine, Hans passed away from complications in February of 2013. Though he is missed by our volunteers, we chose to name our program after him because his kindness embodies what our rescue believes in.
Now, Hans’ dream lives on - Hans’ Fund helps German Shepherds that need extensive medical care.
Hans’ Fund continues to save lives.
Below, you can read some success stories of German Shepherds in our care when supported by contributors to Hans’ Fund. With donations like yours, dogs like these will continue to thrive amidst their difficulties and find forever homes.
Maxwell: Recovered from a Severe Infection
With the help of Hans’ Fund, Maxwell was able to receive treatment for swelling in his feet, loss of coat, and severe allergies. Local contributors were able to raise $2200 needed to cover Maxwell’s expenses, allowing him to find a forever home within four months of his rescue.
Hope: Received Training and Heartworm Treatment
Hope was shy when she was introduced to us from a local shelter due to being forced to breed in the past. Through Hans’ Fund, we were able to raise the $2200 necessary to have her professionally trained and treated for heartworms. She now enjoys a new home.
Luke: Recovered from Hair Loss and an Immunity Disorder
Through contributions to Hans’ Fund, Luke was able to recover from severe hair loss and an immunological disorder. This entire operation required $3000 from supporters like you, who brought the change to make this possible.
